nick loves seydou keita, a self-taught portrait photographer from mali.  keita (d. 2001) took photos of the middle-class from 1949-1970.  sometimes he dressed them in his own western-style clothing or with western objects (bicycles, radios, etc.)  keita's negatives were buried in a tin in his yard for almost 20 years before they were uncovered and shown.  beautiful!
